Title:
Rebuilding Belonging Through Football (Spain)
Context:
Youth participants, many of whom are structurally disadvantaged, struggled with isolation and lack of purpose.
Action:
CF Pardillo redefined football as a psychosocial structure rather than a competition, encouraging teamwork, responsibility, and trust.
Outcome:
Participants regained daily routines, self-esteem, and motivation. Football “glued” them to positive habits, creating stability and community.
Transferability:
This model can be replicated wherever sport infrastructure exists; its success depends on consistent facilitation and an emphasis on belonging rather than winning.
